Lagouri Vasiliki

Ms. Lagouri Vasiliki is a chemist with a Master’s Degree in Pharmaceutical Chemistry from the Pharmacy Department of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens (NKUA) and a Ph.D. in Food Chemistry from the Chemistry Department of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (AUTH). She is an experienced scientist with extensive expertise in academic teaching, research, and the management of research programs. She has worked as a research collaborator in the Departments of Food Technology at the International University of Greece, Organic Chemistry, Pharmacognosy, and Chemistry of Natural Products at the NKUA, and in the MSc program “Biomedical Methods and Technology in Diagnosis” at the Department of Biomedical Sciences at the University of Western Attica.

Her significant work involves the analysis of natural products, with a focus on developing methods for the isolation and quantification of biologically active compounds. Her research has focused on various topics, such as the analysis of phenolic compounds in olive oil, the assessment of antioxidant properties of plant extracts, and the development of new methods for evaluating food quality. She has 15 publications in peer-reviewed journals, 4 books, and 25 presentations at conferences in the fields of chemistry and natural product analysis (citations 988, h-index = 10). Her research has contributed to new insights into the composition and properties of natural products with applications in the food industry, medicine, and environmental science
