Dr Dimitra Gennimata is Senior Hospital Pharmacist and Head of the Pharmacy Department, at the Athens General Hospital “Korgialenio-Benakio” Hellenic Red Cross. She has been offering services as a Healthcare Professional to the National Health System, since 1996. She holds a PhD from the Department of Pharmacy, School of Health Sciences, Aristotle University of Thessaloniki in “Microbial Genetics and Clinical Pharmacology”, under a scholarship from the State Scholarship Foundation (I.K.Y.) and the European Molecular Biology Organization (EMBO). She has postgraduate studies in Public Health (MPH, National School of Public Health/University of West Attica) and in Pedagogy, Counseling and Professional Guidance (Certificate of Specialization, A.S.PAI.TE). She has been a post-doctoral fellow at the Laboratory of Pharmacology, Department of Pharmacy, Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, as well as at the Laboratory of Microbiology, School of Medicine, National and Kapodistrian University of Athens. Since 2006, she has been collaborating with academic institutions, as an external scientific associate and assistant, in the implementation of European Projects (e-Bug – www.e-bug.eu, EUNetPaS – www.eunetpas.eu, Medication compliance – www.ABCproject.eu, SIMPATHY – Polypharmacy Management in the Elderly – www.simpathy.eu and SafeConsume – www.safeconsume.eu). She has significant and invaluable expertise in: a) clinical studies, participating in those conducted in the hospital where she works since 2011 and as a member of the Scientific Committee since 2017, b) the training of students during their internship in the hospital pharmacy since 1996 and c) running European scientific projects since 2006. She has several research publications in high impact international journals, presentations at conferences and lectures/workshops contribution in seminars.
